#Underwarness - Breaking Down the Stigma About Bladder Leakage for Women

Ladies, there should be no shame in your game. Whether you're a mother or not, bladder leakage is a struggle for approximately 51 million women, so there's no reason you should feel bad if you're one of millions of women suffering.

Did you know more women in their 20s suffer from bladder leakage than in their 80s?

I remember when I was pregnant with my second, among a lot of other medical issues, my son sat so low on my bladder that he actually blocked it at one point. Having to go and not being able to, being told I'd have to be catheterized while pregnant ... what a nightmare! Little did I know that after he was born I'd suffer an even worse issue. Yes, I struggled with bladder leakage for a period of time! I was exhausted, embarrassed and slightly hesitant to talk about it with anyone other than my OB. I was only in my mid-20s, how could this be something I was struggling with?

But why all the shame? Why should any women struggling with any issue feel ashamed of what her body is or is not doing? It's not as though it's a voluntary problem. It's not as though we're somehow willing our bodies to no longer function as perfectly as they once did.

I wish when I was struggling with bladder leakage that I had access to and the courage to wear Depend Silhouette Active Fit briefs. Not only are they sleek and comfortable with a barely there fit, but they get the job done.

Believe it or not, that waistband is actually very soft and fabric-like!

I'm so thankful that Depend is now in its second year of its #Underwareness campaign and charity, which is working hard to break the stigma associated with bladder leakage for women.

In fact, Depend's #Underwareness campaign is encouraging people to show their support for women with bladder leakage in a big way! For every photo and video shared using #Underwareness and featuring Depend products, the Depend brand will donate $1, up to $3 million, through 2016 to fund charities that advance the research and education of bladder leakage.

And to really help push past the stigma of bladder leakage, Depend is now offering free samples to those who would like to try them along with info on how to support their #Underwareness campaign at! Who's ready to break down the stigma and support a great women's issue?

Not struggling with bladder leakage yourself, but know a friend who is? Send her a pair!

Don't allow society and/or social stigmas ever let you feel ashamed of your body or any of your body struggles!

And if you don't believe me, did you see the ultra-fabulous Real Housewives of Beverly Hills spark-plug Lisa Rinna champion Depend's Silhouette fit and her desire to promote a more body-positive image for women suffering from bladder leakage? If she can look that fabulous in them what's stopping you?
