Gift Guide 2016 Hair Care EditionI am a total nut about my hair--complete and total nut! Products have to work well, not irritate my sensitive skin, not dry out my overly picky hair and and somewhat tame this textured mess. The struggle is real! It's also expensive, which is why I tend to include a hair care volume in our gift guide each year. Yes, the rest of the year we shell out for our own hair care, but for the holidays wouldn't you love it if someone else picked up the tab? I've compiled a shortlist of hair products I personally love that you can get for the complicated haired person/people in your life.
1. Joico Holiday Duos & Trios - Retail $29.98-33.99 (Value $29.98-51.97 each)Joico is one of the hair care brands you guys seem to love (I love them, too) and it's no wonder because their products are fabulous! Joico offers a number of different hair care lines to address different hair types and concerns from color treated to dry; curly to fine. Their holiday sets this year are a fantastic value and come in either duos (shampoo/conditioner) or trios (shampoo, conditioner and treatment of some kind). The holiday trios (such as the K-Pak Color Therapy one below) also include a free cosmetic bag!

2. Davines Hair Care - Retail: $11+We've included Davines in a number of gift guides over the years and it's for one simple reason--their hair care products work really well! That being said, they're also on the upper end of the price spectrum, which is why we love that they offer small sizes that are easy to gift. I've personally given small Davines products to my sisters in the past for the holidays and they've always fallen immediately in love! Just a head's up, the fragrances in Davines' products tend to be a bit on the mature side (in my opinion) and fairly strong. If you're buying for someone with a super sensitive nose you may want to either check to see if they've ever tried any of their products in the past or consider Joico instead. The fragrances tend to be the only thing I'm not in love with when it comes ot the brand, but I don't know anyone else that has a problem with them and since I have a super sensitive nose it's probably a "me" thing! I do use the products intermittently regardless because I find them so intensely moisturizing.
Where to Buy: Davines.com
|Davines' LOVE line or products is for smoothing, which my hair can always use! "This Relaxing Moisturizing Fluid" (yes, that's its actual name) is excellent for adding additional moisture.|
3. Invisibobble Time to Shine Traceless Hair Rings - Retail $7.95When it comes to makeup I got this, when it comes to my hair ... it needs help! I have the hardest time figuring out how to make my ridiculous hair look cute and since I don't have a ton of extra time I generally just make sure it looks like I've brushed it unless I'm going to an event--then I at least try to straighten or curl it.
These Invisibobble hair rings are so easy to use and so much cuter than a regular hair tie. I was SHOCKED that they actually held my hair up if I made one go around my ponytail twice. Shocked! Not many hair ties can hold my hair up. When I say my hair is thick I mean it's so thick that when hairdressers work with it they spend the entire hour+ talking about how thick the strands are and how much of it I have. While these aren't "traceless" for me (you can definitely still see them against my black hair) they are strangely comfortable and mine didn't slide around or pull on my hair. I honestly thought these would be a "best for people with average hair" things, but I'm happy to say I stand corrected! They come in a variety of festive colors including chrome, bronze, rose and gold.
Such cute little stocking stuffers or little add-ons for holiday gifts.
