Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Lit Swatch & Review Holiday 2015

Urban Decay Naked Illuminated in Lit

Urban Decay released a new face and body highlighter in a shimmery bronze shade as part of its holiday 2015 collection, which might first raise an eyebrow or two (bronze for the holidays?!), but given the fact the holidays are all about glitz and glam it actually makes perfect sense! The formula is baked and meant to be used on both the face and body and has what Urban Decay calls a "microfine shimmer". While I wouldn't personally call it microfine (to me, Hourglass powders are microfine), it is actually very unique texture- and finish-wise! While not chunky or super reflective on the whole, it is well pigmented and has an almost demi-matte, satin finish that includes some reflective sparks.

The packaging has a compartment in the bottom that houses a brush meant to be used for application.

Price - $30

Urban Decay Naked Illuminated in Lit - warm, medium bronze with orange undertones and gold flecks (slightly dry formula, very well-pigmented)

Final Thoughts

As you can see above, on the lightest part of my arm (which is a couple shades lighter than most of the rest of me) it is extremely well pigmented and while it isn't insanely shimmery, it has a demi-matte base filled with reflective flecks.

The formula is smooth, yet slightly drier and for that reason I personally prefer it more for body than face, but it could absolutely be used for both depending on the finish and shade you're looking for.

Overall, I actually think it's quite unique (I was wracking my brain to think of another bronzer powder I have with a similar finish) and worth grabbing if you're looking for a warm, not overly-shimmery bronzer! I think it would look beautiful dusted over shoulder tops, collar bones, etc.

What do you think? Will this be going on your holiday wishlist?
