Dr. Brandt PoreDermabrasion Review

As many of you know, I have very sensitive skin. So while I normally don't use physical exfoliators, I was curious about this as it boasted physical and chemical exfoliation (I use chemical exfoliators daily) and seemed to be of a very fine grade.

Texture-wise this has the consistency of a very thick, smooth paste to the touch. However, on your face you can feel just how powerful of a physical exfoliator it is. I would recommend (as the instructions suggest) moving in slow circles and avoiding delicate eye skin.

As far as performance goes, this definitely did exactly what it suggested with my first use. As soon as I rinsed my face my pores were almost completely invisible, especially on my nose which tends to be the area I can see them most. My skin felt clean and new.

Now while this worked well my first time, it proved to be far too harsh for my skin shortly after.

However, the hubs (our resident male blogger and guinea pig) used it over the course of several weeks with amazing results. He didn't find it to be too harsh (he has normal to mildly combo skin) and found that the texture and overall appearance of his skin improved. He has more noticeable pores on his nose and several other areas. This reduced their appearance and gave his skin an overall fresh look.

In the end, we would potentially recommend this for those without sensitive skin hoping to improve the appearance of their pores and skin texture. It was effective for the hubs and he has continued to use it since 1x per week as part of his normal skincare with great results.

Have you given this a try? What did you think of it?

  1. I have sensitive skin, but my husband doesn't. I wonder if this would be a good fit for him.

    1. The hubs really liked the final effect and still uses it as part of his overall skincare regime. He only uses it 1x per week in addition to his regular cleansing/toning/moisturizing, but we've both noticed a difference in the texture of his skin. It really helps the skin under his beard too, which isn't long, but it's thick enough that it does prevent the skin from breathing a bit.
