Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows & Liner

Recently, MUFE released their fantastic new lines of shadows and liners--aptly named Artist Shadows and Artist Liners. I do not have any of the Artist Lipsticks to share today. From the first time I heard about these my interest was peaked. MUFE revamping their entire line of pressed shadows and replacing them with a brand new gel-powder formula?! Sign me up!

I thought today was the perfect time to share swatches of the 3 shadows and 1 liner I received as they are the epitome of fall colors. Happy first day of fall by the way!

Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows and Liners Swatches - M-630, ME-612, ME-734, M-10

All of these products were swatched on clean, bare skin. Shadows were applied with an eyeshadow brush (I used one from the Royal & Langnickel Revolution line as I find it works very well with formulas of this nature).

Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow and Liner Reviews

Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow M-630 Review

Product Type - gel-powder pressed shadow
Finish - matte
Shade - light milk chocolate brown (fairly neutral)
On the Eye - blends beautifully; well-pigmented; soft
Price - $21
My Thoughts - This shadow is really great. It's a true matte, yet it isn't at all chalky. While it isn't as gel-like and buttery as the metallic shadows I reviewed, there was nothing dry or powdery about it either. Definitely a great shadow--can you say crease color? I'm impressed with this matte shadow's performance!

Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow ME-612 Review

Product Type - gel-powder pressed shadow
Finish - metallic
Shade pinky-copper brown
On the Eye blends beautifully; super pigmented; very smooth and buttery
Price - $21
My ThoughtsThis color is absolutely STUNNING. Not only is it a beautiful color that isn't completely dupable by anything I own in my personal collection or kit, but its performance is phenomenal. It applies beautifully, blends smoothy and the coverage is nuts. I didn't have to pack it on to get a super pigmented layer of color.

Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow ME-734 Review

Product Type - gel-powder pressed shadow
Finish - metallic
Shade tangerine with gold flash
On the Eye blends beautifully; amazing pigmentation; very smooth and buttery
Price - $21
My Thoughts - First of all this shade is on FIRE! It was actually a bit hard to capture as there's something complex about this particular shade of orange. This shadow was just as impressive as ME-612 in performance, which was surprising to me because I often find that some of the brightest, funnest colors can be a bit finicky. This shadow was amazing! It applied perfectly and was completely opaque without having to pack it on. Sensational pigmentation and definitely a must if you're looking for unique brights.

Make Up For Ever Artist Liner M-10 Review

Product Type - twist-up pencil liner
Finish - matte
Shade deep charcoal black
On the Eye sets quickly; can be smudged to a degree immediately after application; not totally waterproof, very smudge-proof
Price - $19
My Thoughts - MUFE makes one of my long-time favorite pencil liners (aqua eyes liners), so I was really curious to see how these new Artist Liners perform. They are not the same as the Aqua Eyes liners. For those curious, I think 0L is actually a more true black, where M-10 is more of a deep charcoal--just my personal opinion for those that want to know if they're similar color-wise. These set extremely fast and if you don't smudge them out immediately after application you'll find they're almost 100% budge-proof. And while these are able to be smudged out immediately after application, there was a tiny bit of pull to them. Ironically, these are not 100% waterproof despite being pretty budget-proof. These come in a twist-up tube rather than a traditional pencil that requires sharpening. I like that these are not essentially a repackaged version of the Aqua Eyes liners as I think they may appeal to those looking for something that performs differently. I can't foresee these replacing my favorite Aqua Eyes as I prefer a waterproof liner when possible, but I look forward to playing around with them as a budge-proof liner is definitely hard to find!

What do you think? Have you tried any of MUFE's new Artist lines?
