Today I'm sharing my experience with their Vitamin C Serum, which is meant for use on the face, neck and decollete after cleansing and prior to moisturizing.

Price

This serum retails for $35.95, but currently has a sales price at the time of this post of $24

While Amara Organics does have their own website, this product is currently exclusive to their Amazon store

Amara Organics Vitamin C Serum Review

Product Type

This is a serum meant to be used on cleansed facial, neck and decollete skin prior to moisturizing. It is meant to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, sun spots, etc. while brightening and moisturizing skin.

Fragrance

This has not been artificially fragranced and while it does have a very slight smell to it while wet, it does not leave a trace of scent once applied to the skin and dry.

On the Skin

This is a fairly thin liquid with plenty of slip to it that easily smooths into the skin. The serum itself is a slightly milky, mostly clear serum. I did not find this irritated my skin, rather I found it to be instantly hydrating upon contact. I don't really have facial wrinkles (yet) so I can't speak to its ability to reduce the appearance of fine lines, but it is definitely great in terms of hydrating skin in addition to your regular skin care routine--given that aloe vera extract is the second ingredient I'm not surprised.

Ingredients

Deionized Aqua (Water), Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf (Aloe Vera Extract), Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C), Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), Cassia Angustifolia Seed Polysaccharide (Botanical Hyaluronic Acid), Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel), Hydroxyethyl Cellulose, Carrageenan Gum, Kosher Vegetable Glycerin, Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba Oil), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Ethyl Hexyl Glycerin, Organic Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola Extract), Organic Equisetum Arvense (Horsetail Plant Extract), Organic Pelagonium Gravoleons (Geranium Extract), Organic Taraxacum Officinale (Dandelion Extract)

Final Thoughts

I'm pretty impressed with this serum. I was a bit surprised it was only 72% organic, but glad to see it was 98% naturally derived. This worked well in terms of hydrating my skin. In fact, I was so impressed with it that I tried using it on the backs of my hands as well because this winter has been so brutal to them and found it worked equally as well on my hands!

All in all, I'd say this product is worth a try if you want to add a bit of extra hydration to your routine. As I don't have issues with fine lines and sun spots I can't report on how it would affect them.

What do you think? Would you give this a try?

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  2. I've never tried a serum before, I've always worried they'd be a bit greasy. I'd probably give it a go now having read your great review!
