Mid-Month December Favorites - Head To Toe Skincare and Hair Care

Some of the products in this post were provided by PR/the brand for consideration

It's been a long time since I've done monthly favorites, but it is time! Since the end of each month tends to (for many reasons) be such a busy time that it's hard over the years to post monthly favorites, I'm going to do a little trial and error with mid-month favorites!

Today's focus is on head-to-toe skincare and hair care. I have so many fabulous products I've been reviewing in the last month or so that I am really excited to share with you! Let's start from the top and work our way down.

December Favorites Hair Care Pt 1

december favorites hair care miss jessie's, lush cosmetics
L to R - Miss Jessie's Rapic Recovery Treatment, Miss Jessie's Leave-in Condish, LUSH Superbalm, LUSH Fair Trade Honey shampoo

1. Miss Jessie's Rapic Recovery Treatment

This is a fabulous deep-conditioning treatment that can be used 1x per week to ultra-moisturize and condition hair.

Price
This retails for $9 (2 oz), $15.60 (8 oz), $28.80 (16 oz)

Where to Buy
This can be purchased directly through Miss Jessie's site as well as through other stores and sites that carry Miss Jessie's

2. Miss Jessie's Leave-In Condish

If you're like me and you need to put product in your hair after to condition and keep it (somewhat) tamed, this is a must-try! It's a moderately dense cream that smooths easily through hair and moisturizes while preventing frizz. It did not weigh my hair down and did lessen my usual frizz by a noticeable amount. It didn't leave my hair feeling stiff or coated with product. Definitely worth a try

Price
This retails for $6.60 (8 oz)

Where to Buy
This can be purchased directly through Miss Jessie's site as well as through other stores and sites that carry Miss Jessie's

3. LUSH Superbalm

I have dry skin, dry hair ... and sadly a really dry scalp. I spend a lot of time (and money) on dealing with my sensitive, dry skin. It is what it is! I don't have dandruff (thankfully), but my actual scalp gets insanely sensitive, itchy and sometimes painful. While I like using things such as hair masks with tea tree oil and apple cider vinegar washes, sometimes it's nice to use something less messy! This provided amazing relief and it was super easy to use prior to jumping in the shower. It washed out well and really helped my scalp. If you have this problem as well there's no shame in it! Just try this fabulous product and get yourself some relief!

Price
This retails for $19.95 (1.5 oz)

Where to Buy
This can be purchased through Lush/LUSHUSA.com

4. LUSH Fair Trade Honey Shampoo

This shampoo is preservative free (yes!) and has fair-trade honey in it! I am a huge believer in purchasing fair-trade whenever possible. I've seen communities supported by U.S. fair-trade purchasing and it is amazing! This shampoo suds well and cleanses well. It does contain SLS, so keep that in mind.

Price
This retails for $9.95 (3.3 oz), $19.95 (8.8 oz), $29.95 (16.9 oz)

Where to Buy
This can be purchased directly through LUSH/LUSHUSA.com

December Favorites Hair Care Part 2 (natural, vegan and SLS free)

december favorites hair care maijan shampoo and conditioner

Maijan Pure Argan & Mint Oil Shampoo and Conditioner

I wanted to highlight some natural hair care for those looking for effective, sulfate and paraben-free products! You may remember I recently reviewed a handful of Maijan hair and skin oils and loved them. When they offered to send Maijan shampoo and conditioner I jumped at the chance! Oh my gosh guys, this stuff is amazing! I have such a hard time with shampoo and conditioner irritating my scalp with regular use. This stuff doesn't bother my scalp and actually works wonders on my scalp and hair--even the Hubs recently noticed! My hair is insanely thick, very textured and very unruly when the weather isn't perfect (which is always in New England). This is fab! The shampoo is almost like a super thick gel (super thick!) and it works to a nice lather. The conditioner smooths in wonderfully and conditions well. I do recommend following up with a leave-in oil or conditioner if you have dry, thick hair like me.

Price
The shampoo and conditioner each retail for $21.95, but the shampoo is currently on sale as of the time of this post for $15.37 and if you buy a shampoo you get a free conditioner!!! Seriously guys, go buy!!!

Where to Buy
This can be purchased through StyleBell.com

December Favorites Face Cleansers

december favorites face cleansers lush cosmetics

I wanted to highlight my favorite LUSH facial cleansers for different skin types!

1. LUSH Let the Good Times Roll

This is a scrub-like face cleanser that smells amazing and works really well. It is meant for all skin types and I highly recommend it! I typically use something semi-abrasive ever 3-4 days as a part of my routine. The Hubs liked this as well on his exposed and beard-covered skin.

Price
This retails for $12.95 (3.5 oz) or $28.95 (8.8 oz)

Where to Buy
This is available through LUSH/LUSHUSA.com

2. LUSH Buche De Noel

How could I have a December favorites without mentioning this festive face cleanser! It may look a bit more like odd cookie dough than a face cleanser the first time you open your tub, but trust me, it works well! Oh my gosh and one of the best parts--it smells like marzipan! I love marzipan--ugh! I seriously want to take a bite ... but so far I've resisted. This is meant for all skin types. As with Let the Good Times Roll, I use slightly abrasive cleansers like this every 3-4 days.

Price
This retails for $12.95 (3.5 oz) or $29.95 (8.4 oz)

Where to Buy
This can be purchased through LUSH/LUSHUSA.com

3. LUSH Herbalism

This is amazing if you're struggling with a break out. While I don't get regular breakouts, every so often I'll get a few blemishes when my hormones are out of whack. This works wonders on the trouble spots. As this is meant for those with oily and acne-prone skin, I would assume it would work on those who struggle constantly with trouble skin as well!

Price
This retails for $13.95

Where to Buy
This is available through LUSH/LUSHUSA.com normally, but it looks out of stock at the moment online, so try your local LUSH!

4. LUSH Ultraband

Ultraband is a beeswax-based combo makeup remover and face cleanser. I am a huge fan (and daily user) of wax- and/or oil-based cleansers that also double as makeup removers. They work very well on my sensitive skin and tend not to dry it out like other cleansers/removers. If you don't have an issue with parabens, this is a must!

Price
This retails for $16.95 (1.5 oz) or $29.95 (3.5 oz)

December Favorites Moisturizers

december favorites moisturizers algenist and supercrema

1. Algenist Advanced Anti-Aging Repairing Oil

You guys have heard me say it time and again, but I adore oils on my skin! My skin is super sensitive and dry for the most part, so oils are just ... magical on my skin. This has a great mix of oils in it that work well to keep my skin soft and supple. I typically use oils on my skin at night that way I don't have to worry about how they'll affect my makeup.

Price
This retails for $79

Where to Buy
This is available through Sephora/Sephora.com

2. Overnight Restorative Cream

My skincare routine always includes moisturizing at night. This is a super luxe night time face cream. It hydrates really, really well! I love Algenist personally so I think it's well worth a try, though it is a tad on the pricier side. It does really last though!

Price
This retail for $90 (2 oz)

Where to Buy
This can be purchased through Sephora/Sephora.com

3. SuperCrema Bio-Natural Creamy Balm for Face & Body

This is an amazingly natural body and face moisturizer that is free of parabens, gluten, colorants, sls, mineral oils, latex and perfumes. It is like a thick ointment in consistency, but it is very silky and absorbs surprisingly well into the skin. There's barely any scent once applied to the skin, though I can faintly detect the product. This is amazing stuff! It is also made in Italy.

Price
This retails for $24.95 (2.54 oz)

Where to Buy
This can be purchased through SuperCrema's online store

December Favorites Lip Products

december favorites lip product lush and moody sisters
L to R - LUSH Santa Baby Lip Tint, Moody Sisters Lip Balm in Vanilla Chai

1. LUSH Santa Baby Lip Tint

I saw mommy kissing Santa Clause... That's the first thing that went through my mind when I first saw this! Santa Baby quickly followed, of course. This is a lovely cola-flavored lip balm with a nice cheery red tint. It has a base of fair-trade cocoa butter and shea butter--yay! I love, love, love it! I have gotta get the LUSH Santa lip scrub asap to go along with my tint. You need this, you want it, go forth and buy it now!

Price
This retails for $8.95

Where to Buy
This is available through LUSH/LUSHUSA.co

2. Moody Sisters Organic Skincare Lip Balm in Vanilla Chai

I have a few Moody Sisters lip balms and I have to say, their vanilla chai may be my favorite flavor! It's also super perfect for winter. The balm itself is super hydrating and doesn't dry up the second you apply it to your lips. I often use this before and after lip swatches because it is so amazing.

Price
This retails for $4.50 per tube

Where to Buy
This is available through the Moody Sisters Organic Skincare site

December Favorites Foot Care

december favorites food care lush stepping stone and shea terra foot rituals volcanic pedicure scrub
L to R - LUSH Stepping Stone, Shea Terra Foot Rituals Volcanic Pedicure Scrub

1. LUSH Stepping Stone

This lime-scented, foot-shaped pumice and sea salt fizzy is lovely for soaking dry feet. It is a bit crumbly, but I found it still worked super well once put in the water and it smells so amazing (like lime popsicles)! I love convenient foot soaks like this that I can pop into a foot soak or even while in the shower (by stopping the water). Even though I'm not planning on wearing flip flops or strappy sandals anytime soon (it was -6 here this morning), I still like to keep my feet in good shape in the cold months.

Price
This retails for $4.50 (2.3 oz)

Where to Buy
This can be purchased through LUSH/LUSHUSA.com

2. Shea Terra Organics Foot Rituals Volcanic Pedicure Scrub

This food scrub is so simple, but easily one of the most luxurious food scrubs I've ever used. It works like magic. Literally. You scrub your feet with it and they are baby-bottom smooth! It is amazing. I actually had one of my sisters try this with me back in the spring and we were both blown away. I've been using it every since and I believe she purchased her own! I personally wouldn't recommend using this in the shower because you don't want to get water in the jar, but if you have a few moments (or a willing foot scrubber to do your feet for you) it is well worth it.

Price
This retail for $16 (4 oz)

Where to Buy
This can be purchased through Shea Terra's site

December Favorites Bonus - Massage!

december favorites lush mange too massage bar

LUSH Manage Too Massage Bar

Friends, it's cold and snowing out there. If you're busting your buns to shovel (or even if you're just the one making cocoa for those that do) you deserve a massage! If you've never had the pleasure of receiving a massage using a LUSH massage bar you are seriously missing out. I have had arthritis in my back since I was 16 and had a billion massages with a metric ton of different products. This is easily one of the best massage product I have ever used. I actually previously shared my absolute love of LUSH Hottie during the summer--still one of my favorites. LUSH Mange Too has a subtle, sweet scent and glides just as beautifully onto skin as other LUSH massage bars I've tried. The slip lasts a really long time as well, so you don't use up an entire bar with one massage or have to constantly reapply. Honestly, LUSH can do no wrong in terms of massage bars from my experience so try this! And if anyone wants to send me a few for the holiday ... I wouldn't complain!

Price
This retail for $10.95

Where to Buy
This is available through LUSH/LUSHUSA.com

Have you tried any of these? Now that you've seen my favorites, share yours!
