Dark and Sultry New Year's Eve Makeup Tutorial Look #2

I did it! I promised you I'd try to get a second look done for New Year's Eve and I did! Good timing too since I'm not doing so hot at the moment--it's gonna be a low-key New Year's for me!

As I mentioned in my first New Year's Eve makeup look inspired by Disney's Frozen, this second look is dark and sultry for those looking for something a bit more dramatic to wear when the ball drops. I wanted to keep it wearable and despite it being a darker look I worked in some Lit Cosmetics glitter to keep it fun and celebration-ready!

I've included pictures of the full look, a step-by-step tutorial and a full product list below!

New Year's Makeup Look #2

As I mentioned, this is a darker, but wearable look! I really prefer softer looks on women's faces, whether the look is dark or light in color scheme. I like blended edges and soft lines and I think this look reflects that. You'll notice in the full face shots that it's harder to see the depth of the shading around my eyes due to the shape of my eyes and face. You can see it a bit better in the picture I posted on instagram this morning as well as in the individual eye shots below.

No editing was done to the photos to alter my complexion aside from cropping and watermarking--Whip Hand Cosmetics Set the Stage Primer and Rouge Bunny Rouge foundation are that good!

Apply Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base primer to your lid

"Map" out the crease and outer edge with MAC Indian Ink. This doesn't have to look polished and you don't need to spend a lot of time here, it simply needs to give you an outline of where you intend to deepen the crease.

Apply Chanel Illusion D'ombre #85 to upper lid

Blend MAC Indian Ink moderately heavily into crease and pull color out a bit. Sweep under outer portion of lower lashline.

Deepen outer v and deepest part of crease by blending MAC Carbon in. Sweep a tiny bit under outermost portion of lower lashline.

Blend Inglot 361 into edges of MAC Indian Ink in crease (this adds some warmth and gives the shading in the crease a more polished appearance). Blend Inglot 351 under brows then pull down and blend into edges of 361.

Tightline upper lashline and line lower lashline with Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes 0L.

Pat MAC Phloof! into inner corner (blending with a light hand when it meets the color on the lid) and pull down slightly below inner lower lashline.

Working from the inner corner towards the middle of the lid, pat Lit Cosmetics clear glitter base followed by Sugar & Spice glitter onto upper lid. Pat a small amount under inner portion of lower lashline as well. Sugar & Spice should be most concentrated in the inner corner and gradually lessen as you approach the center of the eye.

Finish the look by applying falsies and filling in your brows. I used Red Cherry #1 here and Inglot brow powder 565.
