OpenSky Profile

OpenSky is an online marketplace that is fully integrated with social networks, allowing you to shop with your friends online in a more interactive way as you browse through a wide variety of products and brands (many of which are small businesses). You can choose to either sign in with an email address or with a social network profile such as facebook or twitter. Once signed in, you can choose through your profile settings whether to make your shopping publicly shared through the social networks of your choice (facebook, twitter, instagram), private or hidden. You can even choose to share pics you post on instagram and tag with #opensky with those that follow you through their feeds.

If you're like me and you continually window-shop and shop alongside your friends online, swapping links, copy and pasting info, etc. you'll love what OpenSky has created. There is nothing more frustrating to me when I'm shopping online with friends than searching for a link for something I like only to have it not open for the friend I've sent it to. On OpenSky, those that follow you can see what you're interested in, what you recommend, and what you've commented on without the hassle of manually exchanging links and info.

OpenSky gave me the opportunity to shop through their site and choose some items to review for you guys. I was impressed with how many stores they feature! I chose some fun beauty products from a number of different brands and now that I've had the opportunity to review everything, I'm excited to share my experience with you today!

Armour Beauty Lip Gloss in Grace and Shattered Swatches & Review

Armour Beauty Lip Gloss Review
Top to Bottom - Shattered, Grace

Product Type

Armour lip glosses is a stay-put, long-lasting lip gloss created by rocker/model Theo Kogan.

Shades

Armour Beauty Grace Swatch
Armour Beauty lip gloss in Grace - fuchsia base with vibrant purple flash

Armour Beauty Shattered Swatch
Armour Beauty lip gloss in Shattered - raspberry red filled with multicolored sparks

Scent

I can detect a slightly sweet (possibly vanilla) scent alongside something that's almost a touch ... licorice-y on the end? It is not super strong once applied.

On the Lips

Both of these formulas apply well with the doe foot applicator that comes in each tube. These do have a slightly sticky consistency (which has never bothered me), which I find consistent with most budge-proof glosses. To me it's a small price to pay for long wear and these really don't budge at all!

Price

These retail for $21 (6.5 mL/.21 fl oz)

Where to Buy

These are available on OpenSky HERE.

My Thoughts

These are some seriously impressive glosses! Not only are the colors gorgeous and opaque with 1 swipe, they really don't move. I love the pretty purple flash in Grace, which is even more pronounced in person. I think this is going to be a serious favorite for many of you guys. And Shattered is such a perfect holiday color--gorgeous! I'm so excited to explore more of their colors, the variation of shades is lovely whether you prefer a less bold lip or something that pops. If you like gloss you have to give these a try!

Body Systems Cucumber & Cranberry Under Eye Gel Review

Body Systems Cucumber Cranberry Eye Gel Review
Body Systems Cucumber & Cranberry Under Eye Gel

Product Type

This natural eye gel is meant to lift tired eyes.

Scent

This clear gel naturally smells of cucumbers (which I love) and has not been artificially scented.

Under the Eye

This is meant to be gently patted under the eye and allowed to dry. It dries quickly and does not leave a film or stickiness behind. Once dry, you can instantly feel the lifting with a slight tightening under each eye--not drying. The difference was noticeable for me. While I don't have bags under my eyes per say, I do wake up with some slight puffiness under my eyes--some days worse than others. This absolutely reduced whatever puffiness was there.

Price

This retails for $15 (.5 fl oz)

Where to Buy

Body Systems Cucumber & Cranberry Under Eye Gel can be purchased on OpenSky HERE

My Thoughts

I love products like this and I found it worked well! I like that it doesn't have some of the ingredients I try to avoid and I'm happy to say it didn't leave a tackiness to my skin once dry. For the price, I think this is a great product and well worth the value.

Body Systems Fair Trade Coffee Body Scrub Review

Body Systems Coffee Scrub
Body Systems Fair Trade Coffee Scrub

Body Systems Coffee Scrub Review
Body Systems Fair Trade Coffee Scrub

Product Type

This is a body scrub meant to nourish, tone and brighten. It is made with 100% Organic, shade-grown, fair-trade certified coffee grown by certified cooperatives in Chiapas, Mexico and Guatemala. It is meant to be used 1-2 times per week.

Scent

This smells of a mix of strong coffee and natural oils. It is not artificially scented.

In the Shower

If you're not familiar with sugar scrubs (which is probably not the case), you scoop a bit out and rub in circular motions either on target areas or all over your body while in the shower. Body Systems suggest you start with your extremities and work your way in towards your heart to improve circulation. This is a nice thick sugar scrub and it doesn't instantly dissolve the second it gets wet--which is a problem I've had with others in the past. It has a fabulous base of oils that provide great slip and leave the most amazing hydration behind. I am so impressed with this scrub. Not only did it exfoliate well, but it hydrated my skin to the point where it almost felt as though I could go without moisturizer post-shower! Taking into account the fact that I have dry skin and hard water--that's impressive. I can't even begin to describe how good my skin felt even hours after use.

Price

This retails for $20 (9.5 oz)

Where to Buy

This can be purchased through OpenSky HERE

My Thoughts

This has absolutely gone onto my list of fall/winter must-haves. I've tried a lot of sugar scrubs over the years and this one has blown me away! The level to which this exfoliated and then hydrated my skin was impressive. My skin even looked healthier. So far, Body Systems has really impressed me with what I've tried. I spied some Pumpkin products (you know my love of pumpkin anything) and a Wasabi Ginger Detox Bath Treatment that I have to get my hands on!

Lollique Ultra Hydrating Dead Sea Mud Mask Review

Lollique Dead Sea Mud Mask
Lollique Dead Sea Mud Mask

Lollique Dead Sea Mud Mask Review
Lollique Dead Sea Mud Mask

Product Type

This is a face and/or body mask made from imported Dead Sea mud straight from Israel. Dead Sea mud is extremely rich in minerals, trace elements and vitamins that are beneficial to your skin.

Scent

I cannot put my finger on what this smells like to me. It isn't unpleasant at all and isn't super strong on your face. It is not artificially scented.

On the Face

My jar was a tad dry, so I scooped some out, ran a teeny bit of purified water over it for a split second, and it smoothed onto my face like a dream. According to the directions, for the best hydrating results, you're only supposed to leave it on for 5-10 minutes and remove it before it completely dries. I wore it for about 5 minutes and then removed it with warm water. The difference in my skin post-mask was incredible. I don't have bad skin and I'm fortunate it isn't covered in fine lines yet, but it does get dull and the texture isn't as nice as it was in my 20s. I swear, this mud mask was like the fountain of youth on my face! My skin actually looked younger. It was so clear and the texture was lovely. It felt so soft and supple. I could gush over this mud mask all day long. There were a few areas on my face that were slightly pink at first (which I often get with masks), but the pinkness faded fairly quickly.

Price

This retails for $15 (1.5 oz), $26 (6 oz) or $53 (12 oz). As of the time of this post all 3 sizes are on sale for 52%! Run don't walk!

Where to Buy

This is available on OpenSky HERE

My Thoughts

I think I've made it pretty clear that I am in love with this mud mask. I love face masks (I remember using my first one around 5--a french green clay mask my mom had), but it's not often I find one that makes this much of a difference. While I can't promise you'll look 10 or 20 years younger, I can tell you that my skin easily looked 5-10 years younger right after use. I definitely need a backup jar. I suggest nabbing it while it's on sale because this stuff is phenomenal!

Whip Hand Cosmetics Set the Stage Face Primer Review

Whip Hand Cosmetics Review
Whip Hand Set the Stage Face Primer

Whip Hand Cosmetics Primer Review
Whip Hand Set the Stage Face Primer

Product Type

Set the Stage Face Primer is meant to fill, smooth and re-texturize skin in preparation for foundation application. This is a pro quality product available to pros and general makeup lovers.

Scent

This has an almost undetectable scent in the jar, though I can't isolate it or make out what it is. Perhaps it's the jar itself that I can barely smell? For all intents and purposes, it's virtually scentless and has absolutely no scent on the skin.

On the Face

Where to begin? First of all, a little goes a long way--which is always good! This has a texture between a balm and a cream ... with a little bit of a jelly-like something to it. It smooths onto your face perfectly and has a barely-there feel to it. Once you move to apply foundation, you see the real difference between this primer and others. I used both a cream color corrector (under my eyes) and a cream foundation by Graftobian (personal favorites) over this primer and I found both blended into my skin better than with almost any other primer I can remember using in the past--and I've got quite a few in rotation. Not only did this allow my foundation to blend better over my skin, but I feel as though the primer actually helped the foundation adhere to my skin rather than just slide around. The final effect was a perfectly even, smooth, life-like finish.

Where to Buy

This primer can be purchased on OpenSky HERE

My Thoughts

I've heard amazing things from pro friends of mine about Whip Hand Cosmetics--their primer in particular. I can see why! This is easily one of the best primers I've worked with and the overall effect was phenomenal. If you're looking for a new primer or if you're interested to try primer for the first time, definitely give this one a shot. I also love that Whip Hand Cosmetics is a cruelty-free, U.S.-based company (in Detroit) that makes their products in the U.S. Set the Stage Face Primer is absolutely pro quality, but easy enough to work with that anyone (pro or makeup junkie) could appreciate it. Whip Hand Cosmetiques was lovely enough to reach out to me and send a few other products separately, which I'll be posting my review of soon--so check back.

And of course, I had to share a shot of the final effect achieved with Set the Stage Face Primer. I'm also wearing Armour Beauty lip gloss in Grace. I'll have a full list of products used in this shot in another review coming soon, so keep an eye out!
