Fabulous Fall Beauty Vol 4: 80s Periwinkle Eyes, Pink Lips

Time to pull out those scrunchies and leggings!

Remember back when Cover Girl had their infamous square multi-shadow compacts with the see-through tops and sponge-tipped applicators? Do they still have those? I swear every single one had some version of periwinkle or lavender in it in addition to other colors. I admittedly had a few! And of course there was the mandatory pink lipstick--which of course I still love to this day.

I posted a look I created the other day on instagram that was my loose take on a modern 80's combo of colors--periwinkle eyeshadow and light pink lips--and promised I'd post what I used on my blog so here it is! Since it's fall, I deepened the look with some nice chocolatey browns. Keep in mind, my goal wasn't to recreate an 80s look spot-on, just to loosely interpret it into a modern fall look.

Eye Look

What I Used:

  • Benefit Stay Don't Stray Primer
  • Inglot #429 (periwinkle blue) - patted on upper lid
  • Make Up For Ever #166 eyeshadow - blended into outer v, up and around crease in "c" shape, pulled down under outer edge of lower lashline
  • TheBalm Sleek eyeshadow from Nude'Tude palette - blended into crease
  • Inglot #342 eyeshadow - blended into edges of Sleek
  • Inglot #351 eyeshadow - blended under brow, blended out edges of #342
  • MAC Phloof! eyeshadow - patted into inner corner and pulled under inner corner of lower lashline
  • Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes 0L liner - tightline/waterline upper and lower
  • Make Up For Ever Aqua Smoky Lash mascara
  • Inglot #565 brow powder

Full Face

This is the original picture I posted to instagram. The lipstick is a little more muted in this pic than it was in person, but you get the point!

What I Used:

  • Kaia Matte Face Moisturizer/Primer - all over face
  • Make Up For Ever Sculpting Blush #08 - apples of cheeks
  • BECCA Damselfly blush - over MUFE #08 for warmth
  • MAKE Colour Solstice Bronzer #3 warm - used to contour outer perimeter of face (in "3" formation) and cheek bones

What do you think? Do you like to wear lighter, brighter colors in the fall or do you stick to dark and jewel tones?
