Antipodes Organic Skin Care Review

Antipodes Profile

Antipodes is a green beauty brand originally founded in and inspired by New Zealand. The brand produces natural products that they state are clinically and scientifically proven to benefit skin. Packaging features recyclable glass and aluminum as well as biodegradable card stock. The range of natural products they offer is impressive and all of the products I reviewed were certified organic.

Antipodes Grapeseed Butter Cleanser

Antipodes Grapeseed Butter Cleanser Review

Product Type

This is a balm face cleanser meant to be applied to the face then wiped off with a warm, damp cloth.

On the Face

I'm a huge fan of balm cleansers because they generally work well with my dry, sensitive skin. This is one of the thickest, most hydrating balm cleansers I've used. This applies like a thick ointment and because it has no chemical detergents, it does not lather. It wipes off easily with a damp, warm cloth, but keep in mind that because it is so thick, it may require an extra minute or two for removal. It left my skin cleansed and hydrated. I found it removed my makeup well, including waterproof makeup.

Price

Antipodes Grape Butter Cleanser retails for $47 (75 grams/2.5 fl oz)

Antipodes Resurrect Clarifying Facial Toner Review

Antipodes Resurrect Clarifying Facial Toner Review

Product Type

This is a spray-on facial toner meant to balance skin and reduce the appearance of pores. It is meant to be used up to 3x per day.

Scent

This has an initial scent that is somewhat citrus-y mixed with strong lavender and chamomile notes. The second this hits the face it absorbs quickly and the scent does not linger.

On the Face

As I mentioned above, this absorbs very quickly on the face. Because I have dry skin, I personally wouldn't use this 3x per day, but using it once per day kept my skin fairly happy! I didn't find it drying or hydrating. It is by far one of the more gentle spray-on toners I've used.

Price

Antipodes Resurrect Clarifying Facial Toner retails for $34 (100 mL/3.5 fl oz).

Antipodes Apostle Skin-Brightening & Tone-Correcting Serum Review

Antipodes Apostle Skin Brightening Tone-Correcting Serum Review

Product Type

This is a water-based serum that is meant to correct and even out skin tone.

Scent

This has the most fresh, delicious fruity smell--totally natural and not at all chemically smelling! It isn't overly strong and does not linger on the face, but I love it and wish it did!

On the Face

I used this in combination with the Divine Face Oil (see below) and found it left my skin hydrated and even looking. I don't suffer from a lot of hyper-pigmentation on my face, but sometimes my complexion looks a tad uneven overall. With this system I found my skin looked clearer and healthier!

Retail

Antipodes Apostle Skin-Brightening & Tone Correcting Serum retails for $58 (30 mL/1 fl oz).

Antipodes Divine Face Oil Avocado & Rose Hip Review

Antipodes Divine Face Oil Review

Product Type

This is a facial oil meant to be used to moisturize and nourish skin. I use facial oils such as this in place of conventional moisturizer creams.

Scent

This has a light, sweet, natural scent that is not overpowering. I prefer naturally scented face care, so I find scents like this pleasant.

On the Face

This is a fabulous face oil! I have been using oils to cleanse and hydrate my skin for years because they work well with my dry, sensitive skin. This oil smoothed into my face and absorbed well. My skin felt hydrated and firm with use. Loved this!

Price

Antipodes Divine Face Oil retails for $34 (25 mL/.9 fl oz).

Antipodes Organic Lip Balm with Lime Leaf & Cocoa Butter Review

Antipodes Organic Lip Balm Review

Product Type

This is a hydrating lip balm that can be used daily.

Scent/Flavor

This has a natural lime and cocoa butter scent. You can faintly taste the lip balm base while it is on your lips, but if you're accustomed to natural cocoa butter based balms this will probably be a familiar taste.

On the Lips

Given how much wear and tear my lips experience between daily lip product wear and lip swatches, I have to be really careful to take good care of my lips. This was a great balm to use!

Price

Antipodes Lip Balm retails for $9 (5 grams/.17 fl oz)

Where to Buy

This can be purchased directly through Antipodes' US site HERE

My Thoughts

I really enjoyed this skin care system! I found that the combination of all 5 products left my face and lips hydrated, incredibly clear and even. The texture of my skin was a bit firmer and the general color was pretty even. I'm a huge fan of organic skin care and a long-time oil-based product user. Antipodes has my seal of approval for sure! I highly recommend giving any or all of their products a try if you're a fan of these types of products. I also think these are great for those with sensitive skin (like me) or troubled skin.

What do you think? Would you give any of these products a try?

  5. Aloe Vera lotions are widely used for cleansing the skin. Many of the skin care products containing aloe vera are also fortified with Vitamin E and collagen to help maintain skin elasticity and lock in moisture. www.thedermreport.com
