Grafbotian HD Glamour Creme Palette Cool 1 and Neutral 2 Swatches and Review - Available at LeCosmetique.com

Products in this review were provided by PR/thebrand

I was recently given the opportunity to review 2 Graftobian HD Glamour Creme Palettes in Cool #1 and Neutral #2. After my fabulous experience with Grafbotian's HD Glamour Creme Corrector Palette (see my review HERE) I was incredibly excited to review these for you as well!

Graftobian's HD Glamour Creme Palettes (for foundation) are categorized by warm, cool, and neutral and then numbered. The higher the number, the deeper the hues within the palette. Each palette in this series offers a gradient of 5 shades. There is also an Ultra-Lites palette and Neutral Specialty #4, both of which I'm interested to check out and will share if I get the chance! Graftobian offers larger foundation palettes as well (also available through LeCosmetique.com), which you may want to check out if you're looking for a conveniently condensed palette with a broader range.

Price

These each retail for $20.95 on LeCosmetique.com (which is a great price compared to other beauty supply stores I frequently purchase from).

Swatches of Grafbotian HD Glamour Creme Palette Cool #1

Application/Coverage

These are incredibly creamy and smooth right onto the skin. Coverage for me was medium to almost full coverage depending on the amount of product I applied.

Wear

These wore super well for me over my current regular primer (Chella Skin Firming Serum Daily Primer) and did not dry out or irritate my sensitive skin. I did find that like all foundations I've ever used, these did tend to cling a teeny tiny bit to super dry patches of skin (the flakiness in particular), though not as badly as most of the other foundations I've tried. I tend to have super dry skin on my nose so that's my trouble spot. If you don't have super dry skin it will likely not be a problem on cleansed and prepped skin. Creme foundations in general can be good options for those of us with dry skin if they have good formulas (this being one of them)

My Thoughts

The Cool #1 palette is fabulous for anyone looking for a great cool-toned creme palette. It was not (much to my delight) super yellow-y like so many foundations and I did feel that it was easy to work with. Coverage was great and it felt very nice on my skin. There was no tightness throughout the day and the finish was fabulous and slightly dewy. I did find that #30330 Aurora RAO1 was the closest match to my skin tone, though that could change slightly if I get any sun exposure through my sunscreen (I get color no matter how high my SPF is - which I wear daily) and then when winter comes I will likely have to go down a shade.

Application/Coverage

These are incredibly creamy and smooth right onto the skin. Coverage for me was medium to almost full coverage depending on the amount of product I applied.

Wear

These wore as well as the Cool #1 palette above. I love everything from the way they felt on my skin (light-weight for a creme foundation) to the finish. I had no irritation at all.

My Thoughts

This is another great palette (so far I've only had positive experiences with Graftobian products) and one that will complement those with neutral medium complexions. I love that these aren't super yellow-toned. The colors in this palette are very slightly darker/lighter versions of each other. There is no significant jump from one shade to the next, but rather a super gradual depth that grows as you move from the left-most shade to the right.

And now for these shades in use...

I used a combination of Graftobian #30330 Aurora RAO1 from the Cool #1 palette and #30309 Cabaret Kitchen from the Neutral #2 palette.
NoteI have a really odd complexion so while I probably could have gotten away with wearing either shade solo with only a minor difference, the combination of both was an actual color-match for my complexion. I actually played around and used #30340 Buff RAIV for highlighting (from the Cool #1 palette) and #30316 Diva from the Neutral #2 palette for contouring. I'd probably use a deeper shade for contouring next time (Graftobian offers quite a few deeper shades), but it created a decent subtle contour. I used Chella Skin Firming Serum Daily Primer under my foundation. I am wearing blush (Tarte Tipsy), mascara (Revlon Luscious Growth in waterproof blackest black), Mirenesse 27hr Inside Out Kohl in Osiris, and Anastasia Beverly Hills gloss (can't remember which pink). As usual, I tried to keep it simple so you can really see the foundation.

Another shot so you can see how it looks from another angle.

Final Thoughts

I love these! I am actually going to put these in my regular rotation of foundations because I am that impressed. I had played around with a few Graftobian products before this review, but not these specific palettes. I love how slim and compact they are. While you have to be sure you're not collecting product from adjacent foundations with your brush while using one shade, it's easy enough to do and worth it for the compactness of this palette. You can easily hold it in one hand and apply with the other. Another big plus was also the lack of super-saturated yellow tone, which I see in so many foundations. These were right on the money in my opinion. Definitely a big thumbs up from me! I recommend giving this a whirl whether you're looking for a new foundation for yourself or on the hunt for new creme foundations for your kit. This is also a great way to sample handfuls of colors at one time if you're looking for specific ranges/colors for your kit!

  9. Are these thin enough to apply and blend...IDK, I'm getting images of putty-type consistency which obviously isn't right, but I've only seen liquid, powder and airbrush foundation applied so I can't wrap my head around them...like a lot of things in life.
Your reviews are so good and detailed, always what I want in a review of a product. Dare I say better than Temptalia's even and she doesn't pull punches either.

    1. Absolutely! These have all of the blendability (and ability to mix multiple shades to color-match) as liquid foundation. These are far creamier than other creams I've tried. They spread on the face super well. I definitely recommend giving one of these a try! The price is reasonable enough that you could definitely give these a whirl and try first-hand if it's your first experience with cream foundation. They're very easy to work with! If you have questions about shades let me know!
